Root beer pulled pork


  • 5 or more pork loins or a large pork shoulder
  • 1 can of root beer
  • your favorite BBQ sauce
  • a slow cooker or crock pot (not an ingredient, but vital to the recipe)


  1. trim any excess fat from the pork loins or shoulder
  2. put all of the pork into the slow cooker
  3. pour the root beer into the slow cooker until pork is just slightly covered
  4. let it cook on low heat for approximately 7 to 8 hours
  5. pull out the pork leaving behind all liquids
  6. douse the pork with as much BBQ sauce as you want
  7. toss the pork and BBQ sauce together, this alone will pull the pork apart as it will be very tender
  8. server with your choice of sides, on a bun or on top or coleslaw


Serves 2 people. Double or tripple the recipe depending on the amount of people you want to feed.
