Autumn pork chop stacks


  • 4 pork chops
  • 4 sweet potato slices (peeled and thick)
  • 4 apple slices (unpeeled and thick)
  • 4 red onion slices (thick)
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp dried savory
  • 1 tbsp margarine or butter


  1. trim and remove excess fat from the pork chops
  2. grill the pork chops in a pan over medium-high heat until it's well greased
  3. drain the fat from the pan, and brown each of the pork chops lightly on both sides
  4. place each pork chop in the center of a 12 inch long piece of aluminum foil
  5. put a slice of apple, sweet potato, and red onion on each pork chop
  6. sprinkle the savory evenly over each pork chop stack
  7. sprinkle salt, pepper and nutmeg on top of each pork chop stack
  8. add a dab of butter to the top of each stack, and seal up the aluminum foil
  9. slowly grill the 4 pork chop stacks on the grill over medium heat for 40 minutes to 1 hour
  10. flip the pork chop packets 3 to 4 times during grilling


Serves four people.
