Shrimp chicken and bacon

Ingredients

  • 5 cups - fish stock or chicken broth
  • 2 cups - broccoli florets
  • 2 tsp - onion, minced
  • 1 tsp - celery seeds
  • 1 tsp - fennel seeds
  • 1 tbsp - finely minced garlic
  • 1 cup - dry white wine
  • 3/4 cup - milk
  • 1/4 pound bacon - cut in 1/4" strips
  • 1 cup - chicken breasts - 1" strips
  • 12 raw jumbo shrimp
  • salt and freshly ground pepper

Instructions

  1. put a pan on low heat and cook bacon, stir for 2 minutes without browning
  2. add wine, increase heat to high
  3. bring liquid to boil and cook for 1 minute
  4. add in shrimp, chicken, garlic, onion, celery seed, fennel and stock
  5. reduce heat to medium
  6. cover and cook for 3 minutes
  7. add in broccoli and milk and cook uncovered for 2 minutes
  8. season to taste with salt and pepper
  9. transfer bacon, shrimp and chicken into soup bowls using a slotted spoon
  10. pour broth into bowls and serve
